David McMillen - Founding Member Director Operations, New Business Development
David brings 15 years of experience in road and air transport to SpeedLink. Having started at the bottom operating a forklift in Vancouver Canada upon leaving school, Dave has gathered much experience in the transport industry.
David bought his first open deck truck in 1994 and operated an Hot Shot Express service over the entire province of British Columbia. Anything was transported from documents to commercial vehicle engines and other strange and outsized items. He also gained valuable experience in a very fast and competitive market with Phoenix Truck and Crane Service - now based in Coquitlam, just outside Vancouver. Everything imaginable was transported: construction materials, equipment to film sets for the X-Files, dangerous goods, flag poles, steel I-beams, live reptiles. You name it - it was moved.
Another field of experience Dave has added to his CV was a 3 year stint at WestJet Airlines in Calgary, Alberta. Here David learned about aspects of the air transport industry in Canada, and also worked closely with the Sales and Marketing machine at WestJet. Here, Dave learned much about customer service, marketing and people. Dave has embraced WestJet's philosophy towards it's workforce - "If we take care of our people, our people will take care of our business." |

Joanne McMillen, Founding Member Director of Finance, People
Joanne brings 18 years of business management experience to SpeedLink. Joanne has owned and operated a local cleaning business in the Aldershot area for many years. She brings business management, financial control and recruitment experience to her post as well as an excellent approach to customer service. Joanne has studied to keep abreast of current taxation and employee related issues, and works closely with the rest of the directors to ensure that the financial and people side of SpeedLink works in the most efficient manner possible. |
